In partnership with United Federal Credit Union, the Potawatomi Zoo’s annual free-admission Children’s Day will take place June 11, 2025.
From 10 am until the Zoo’s last admission at 7:30 pm, admission to the Zoo will be free for children ages 14 and under. Children 14 and under must be accompanied to Children’s Day by a responsible adult.
“We love this partnership with United because it allows us to share the Zoo with children who might not otherwise get to visit,” says Josh Sisk, executive director of the Potawatomi Zoo. “It’s another great way for us to foster curiosity about wild animals and wild spaces.”
All regular attractions, concessions, and the gift shop will be open during Children’s Day. Zoo Keeper Chats will be available at 11:30 by the African lion habitat and 2:30 near the North American porcupine.
During Children’s Day, United Federal Credit Union will be giving away bags to children at the event while supplies last and will contribute $5 to every new Youth Savings Account that is opened at one of their locations, when a coupon is presented from the event.

Attractions, stroller rentals, the gift shop, and concessions are not part of admission. Free admission doesn’t extend to group tours or field trips.
Overflow parking is available at Kids Kingdom and John Adams High School.
The Zoo is open daily from 10 am to 8 pm (last admission at 7:30) from June 1 through August 31, 10 am to 5 pm from September 1 through October 31, and 10 am to 4 pm from November 1 through 23.
