We offer two unique camp experiences for kids entering grades 4th-6th, each designed to spark curiosity and deepen their love for animals. Both camps provide equal opportunities for exciting animal encounters, fun activities, and hands-on learning. Here’s a look at both options:
Wild and Rare: Sold Out!
They are wild; they are rare. Join us in learning about endangered species around the world. We will learn why animals become endangered, and we will learn different ways to help save their populations. Throughout the week, this STEM focused camp will inspire students to help protect endangered species through animal encounters, games, crafts, and more!
So, You Want to be a Zookeeper: Sold Out!
So, You Want to be a Zookeeper? This camp will explore what it is really like to be a zookeeper at the Potawatomi Zoo. Campers will learn all about animal husbandry and care at a zoo from medical examinations, prepping diets, to animal training, and behavior observations. Practice making enrichment, help cleaning up after some farm animals, take a tour behind the scenes, meet some of our animal friends at the Potawatomi Zoo, and more!
