Discovery Zoo Camp
For kids entering grades K – 1

Summer 2026 Camp Registration Opens on January 1st for Members and January 8th for Everyone.

Cost*: $165 per person. Zoo Members receive a 10% discount.

*Cost includes 5 days of half-day camp 9 am-12 pm or 1 pm-4 pm, 1 camp T-shirt, and 1 camp drawstring bag.

Build a Full Day of Fun!
Discovery campers can join both an AM and PM camp during the same week for a full day of hands-on learning and adventure. Register for both AM and PM camps and add morning after care for smooth, full-day coverage.

We offer two unique camp experiences for kids entering grades K – 1st, each designed to spark curiosity and deepen their love for animals. Both camps provide equal opportunities for exciting animal encounters, fun activities, and hands-on learning. Here’s a look at both options:

Backyard Boogie: Register Here!

You don’t always have to travel far away to explore the great outdoors. Believe it or not, your own backyard is a wild place buzzing with life! From nocturnal crawlers to tunneling diggers, from tree climbers to sky dancers, we will learn about the wild animals that call our backyard home! Through animal encounters, science experiments, games, and crafts, we will develop a greater appreciation for our backyard as we understand the importance of our very own backyard ecosystem!

Dates:

  • Monday, June 8 – Friday, June 12

    • Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (before care begins at 8 am and aftercare ends at 1 pm)

  • Monday, July 6 – Friday, July 10

    • Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

  • Monday, July 27- Friday, July 31

    • Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (before care begins at 8 am and aftercare ends at 1 pm)

Critter Classification: Register Here!

What kind of animal has scales? Which animals fly? Why do fish live in water? If your child asks these kinds of questions, this is the camp for them! This camp will go through the five different classifications of vertebrate (mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish). Campers will learn what makes each of these classes unique from one another through animal encounters, games, crafts, and more!
