Wild Birthday Parties

Potawatomi Zoo is the only place in town where you can celebrate your birthday with amazing wildlife from around the world. Share your love of animals with your family and friends while feeling great knowing that you are helping save animals from extinction.

You and your guests will enjoy all-day admission to the Zoo (During the Open Season), a private space for up to 2 hours ( indoors November-May and outdoors June-October or if there is inclement weather), a party host, optional animal encounters and more! Parties are held outside June-October unless there is inclement weather. November-May they are held inside a classroom space. 

We offer two exciting packages that include all the elements you need to host the wildest party in town.

Wild Birthday Party Details:

Birthday Parties are available on Saturdays and Sundays at 10:00 am -12:00 pm or 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm to maximize availability. We will begin checking you in 30 minutes prior to your party start time. Birthday Parties can only be hosted during zoo hours. Party must end on time as we book back-to-back parties or host other educational events within the space.

Our Wild Birthday Party Packages are priced for up to 35 guests (includes children and adults). 

Wild Birthday Parties are geared toward ages 3-12

A $100 cancellation fee will be applied if you cancel within 2 weeks of your scheduled birthday party. You may book a party starting 3 months before your intended date.

You are able to bring in your own food. We do not have freezer space and there may not be outlets available if the party is outside.

Balloons, noise makers, confetti/glitter, alcohol (unless purchased on zoo grounds), piñatas or glassware are not permitted for the safety of the animals, you, your guests, and other Zoo patrons. 

Your party is responsible for transportation and storage of party gifts, food, and supplies.

What is the basic flow of a Wild Zoo Birthday Party?

  • Guest arrival
  • Food
  • Craft/activity with the children
  • Cake
  • Presents
  • Party game (if time allows)
  • Animal Ambassador (if applicable)
  • Passing out attraction tickets
  • End of party

We offer two exciting party package options.

 

Animal Adventure Package Price: $400; Member’s get 10% off. Parties booked during the closed season November-March will be discounted 10% this discount cannot be combined with the member discount.

Animal Adventure Package Includes:

  • Personal Party Host
  • Zoo admission for up to 35 of your guests (During the Open Season)
  • Party Favor for Birthday Child (plush animal)
  • Up to 2 hours in the Zoo Space
  • Two Educational Animal Encounters from a Zoo Educator (10 – 15 mins)
    • Animal Encounters: Have a Zoo Educator and two ambassador animals join in on the fun! This encounter includes two small animals along with fun details about the animals and their unique characteristics. Please note – we do not take any requests for specific animals, as the Zoo Educator & Animal Care Professionals determines which animals are feeling up for an Animal Encounter that day. However, we can accommodate if you do NOT want to see a specific animal. Speak to your Party Host/Zoo Education for more details.
  • Attraction Tickets (Carousel, Train, or giraffe feed) for partygoers (and associated guardian if applicable) (Only available during open season)
  • In our closed season a 20-minute zoo tour is included and goat food.
  • 10 crafts/coloring sheets for children ages 3-12

The party packages include 35 people (both children and adults). Children under 2 do not count towards the total guest count. Outside food is permitted, but alcohol, straws, glass bottles are not allowed. The party will be indoors in our Learning Center classroom from November-May and held outdoors from June-October in the Zoo Farm by the red silo. If there is inclement weather an outdoor party will be moved inside. If you would like to request being inside or outside outside of those dates please email education@potawatomizoo.org. Additional plush, and crafts can be purchased even on day of party

Pizza party catering included cheese and pepperoni pizza, an assortment of chips, and water, lemonade or fruit punch for 35 guests. 

Pizza party catering needs to be purchased two weeks before the event. To ask about additional catering options email Tracy LaRoy at tlaroy@potawatomizoo.org

Dippin Dots are available in 3 flavors and are individually packaged. These should be ordered one week in advance to make sure they are in stock.
