Long, slender body with short limbs. They have short, round ears and well-developed scent glands.
Domestic ferrets still have adaptations that their ancestors used to chase and rodents in underground tunnels. Ferrets have short, legs and small ears, so they can fit in small spaces and not get dirt in their ears. They have long, sharp claws for digging. Ferrets are also extremely flexible, which allows them to maneuver and turn around in small spaces.
