KEEL-BILLED TOUCAN
Ramphastos sulfuratus



Length: 17-22 inches. Their large and colorful bills averages around 5-6 inches, but can be up to one third of its length.
Description: : Keel-billed toucans are mostly black with yellow neck and chest. Their long, square tail is red at the base on the underside, and white at the base on top. They have blue feet, and the large bill is light green with a red tip and orange blazes down each side. The keel-billed toucan’s bill averages 5-6 inches, but can be up to 1/3 of the bird’s total length. Females are slightly smaller than males

Range/Habitat: Keel-billed toucans are native to lowland rainforests of South Mexico into Venezuela and Colombia

Diet: Wild: Mainly fruit; occasionally eggs, fledgling birds, insects, small lizards, tree frogs Zoo: Fruit and insects
